Owner of Walk on Water Productions, writer and visionary of The 7 Scrolls of Shitorio
Jacob Kirton is a young writer born in the Bronx and raised in Farmingdale, New York. Studying various writing degrees including a bachelor for Creative Writing for Entertainment with Full Sail University, his early interests were varied from animation to cinema and included music.
Upon reaching young adulthood, Jacob navigated his way through numerous social and emotional struggles. After experimenting with various controlled substances, he relocated to Bridgeport, CT, where he had a personal life changing experience. Sensing the need for something new, Jacob prayed and asked God to grant him a new path. While sitting in his living room holding the same razor blade used to chop out lines of cocaine to his wrist, he heard a voice say, "No, there are some people you need to talk to." Ever since that day those words have been the driving force behind everything that drives Jacob to succeed. Knowing that his previous destiny was not his own, he realized that it was not yet his time to go, but to create.
At that point Jacob began the task of composing the "7 Scrolls of Shitorio", an original work of prose that details the life of a young warrior destined to defeat an ancient god written as an epic poem. An aspiring musician, Jacob also composes, writes and performs his own music under the guise of “Elijah The Prophet”. He has released an official album called Men of God with his M.O.G’z rap group among various mix tapes such as, Rooftop & Sidewalk, The Lowrider, Behind Bars, Flight Plan and the Ravenfed collective Children of Manna pt1 . Working in collaboration with tristan powell., the young Mr. Kirton has created a complex and heroic character in Shitorio. The story of a young warrior on a quest to dispel the world of an evil destined to enslave it. The artwork for Shitorio designed by Tristan powell based off of Jacobs writing has a fantasy feel with sharp detail like the likes of the story within Shitorio. With the help of Jacobs mentor Kene Holliday, he was able to establish a link with the young gifted artist and they haven’t stopped working since.
A unique work, "The 7 Scrolls of Shitorio" is sure to captivate audiences with its fantastic originality while building a loyal fan base. –“Shitorio to me is a representation of my survival. It is an example of me accomplishing sustaining my once despised life. I may go on to create and do other accomplishments but The 7 Scrolls of Shitorio will always be a reminder to me that all the are possible the help of God and a little faith.” – Jacob Kirton
TRISTAN MARCEL POWELL
Tristan Marcel Powell
Artist for Walk on Water Productions, Illustrator and creator of artwork for "The 7 Scrolls of Shitorio"
Tristan was born in Paris, France. At a young age he was introduced to the world of art by his mother, frederique; a first place graduate of the youth program at "L'Écoles supérieures des beaux arts de Quimper", and a graduate of Parisian university of art "La Sorbonne".
After moving to the United States, Tristan fell in love with video games and was introduced to a new style of art, which intrigued him to a point of obsession. He began creating his own game story lines and character designs, opening the flood gates of his imagination. At 16 he grew tired of the idea of working for a gaming company for endless hours to lose all recognition to a corporate face, which would never let his true creative ideas spread their wings and soar for themselves. Around this time tristan began to play guitar and showed great skill in a short time. After starting many bands to no avail, due to internal conflicts with un-dedicated artists, tristan made the decision to return to the world of visual art.
In his teens he had grown to love Japanese manga, comic books, and graphic novels. Because of this he knew he could find happiness in the field of illustration. Working endless hours, once again to the point of obsession he pursued his goals. Collaborating with different writers in hopes of finding a strong connection with someone who understood his hunger for success, and in turn had that same fire in their gut.
After working with a long time friend the two of them submitted a 45 page "one shot" entry to Shueisha's "Weekly Shonen Jump" tri-lingual manga competition. An unsuccessful attempt to get a foot into the industry, but a valuable learning experience which pushed Tristan as a writer and artist.
A few months later Tristan was introduced to Jacob Kirton, the young and talented writer hailing from the grand city of New York. They mashed instantly as friends and began to work on his project; "The 7 Scrolls of Shitorio".
"When i first heard about the story of a vengeful ninja, i thought to myself it was a cliche. Then, As soon as I began to read Jacob's tale of the young shitorio, I knew I had stumbled onto something new, something different. The epic poem struck me as inventive and original and I had to take part!"
"I decided that an original idea like this needed an art style which had never been used with standard graphic novels and illustrated novels, so I put down my pen and ink and started to develop the illustrations in pastel. An abstract art form to match the abstract prose of Jacob's story. He has drive, he has vision, and he has talent. With him I can see myself going past any limit that has been set before me and I am very excited for what is to come of it. I hope everyone who reads "The 7 Scrolls of Shitorio" Will be blown away by this new art form and that through it we can establish a loyal fan base who will walk with us on our path of development and in turn be infulenced to take their own ideas to higher levels."
